Final Fantasy V es la quinta entrega de la saga Final Fantasy. Fue lanzado por primera vez en Japón el 6 de diciembre de 1992 para la Super Famicon de Nintendo. Más tarde se realizó un remake para Play Station que llegó a América del Norte y a Europa junto a Final Fantasy Anthology. En 2006, fue lanzado un remake para Game Boy Advance, bajo el nombre de Final Fantasy V Advance.
El juego trata sobre un grupo de cuatro desconocidos que acaban viajando juntos porque se les encomienda la tarea de salvar los cristales, que han empezado a romperse uno tras otro. A lo largo de la historia los personajes averiguan que Exdeath es el culpable de la ruptura de los cristales, con lo que pretende escapar del sello en el que fue encerrado y conseguir el poder del Vacío, con el que pretende absorber el universo y acabar con toda vida. Por tanto, el grupo se ve obligado a enfrentarse a Exdeath e impedir que el Vacío consuma el mundo.
